Affordable Lakefront Recreational Property 45 minutes from Squamish, BC

Butterfly Lake is a private lake situated 1.5 hours North of Vancouver in Squamish BC.  Take the exit off the Sea to Sky Highway up Paradise Valley Road which is across from Alice Lake.  The road is well maintained by the Butterfly Lake Association.  The cabin is only 45 minutes from Downtown Squamish.  Situated amoungst an old growth fir forest nestled on a private lake.  The road is well maintained but there are some four wheel drive sections and no road maintenance during the winter months..so you can ski or snowmobile in instead! Two locked gates with special keys ensure exclusive use of the lake to cabin owners only.   There are five other lakes situated close by which make up excellent hiking excursions.  Motorboats are  restricted on the lake which makes for a peaceful setting and excellent fly fishing for rainbow trout.  The forest is rich in wildberries and mushrooms.  The lake is very warm in the summer for swimming.

The cabin is on 1 acre of government leased land (renewable) with 110feet of lakefront and is 30 feet off the shore of the lake.  The cabin comfortably sleeps 8 guests.  The main living area has propane stove and oven with lights, custom fir cabinetry from local wood. The washroom has running water for sink and bathtub but you must walk up the stairs outside to use the outhouse.  There is a loft with a double bed and skylights above.  View the northern lights if you ski or snowshoe in the winter time.  Downstairs room is about 350 square feet with a private bedroom with log double bed and shower stall.  Hot and cold running gravity fed water.  Private sitting room wtih another propane stove and oven makes group dinners fun.  A large firepit beside the lake makes for great summer parties and you can roast a full pig or lamb over the spit.  The cabin is available turnkey for interested parties.

  1. I swear I had been to this lot some 40 plus years ago. This was way back before the cabin was built but I definitely recognize the location. Are you the orginal owner??? I have long since lost contact with this family. One time we were all really close. Just wondering, if by fate, we know each other ????
